E. W. Howell Building Addition to the Candlewood Middle School

Dix Hills , NY --  E. W. Howell Co., Inc., one of the oldest and largest construction companies on Long Island , with a branch office in New York City is proud to announce that the firm was hired as General Contractor for the modernization of the Candlewood Middle School in Dix Hills , New York .

The 100,000 square foot renovation will include altering the existing auditorium to create a state-of-the-art, larger library along with new classrooms. The gymnasium will be extended and a new weight room will be added.

A new 40,000 square foot auditorium is being built from the ground up.  The total size of the addition is 70,000 square feet.

Burton Behrendt Smith Architects designed this modern building to include many skylights.

The E. W. Howell team includes: Paul O'Rourke – Project Executive, Alexis Lisi – Project Manager, Robin Valentine – Project Administrator, and Pat McAree – Project Superintendent.  Robert Webb was the estimator for the project.
