E. W. Howell Breaks Ground on New Elementary School In East Moriches, New York

E. W. Howell Co., Inc., is proud to announce our award as the general contractor for the new 73,000 square foot kindergarten through fourth grade elementary school project for the East Moriches Union Free School District .       E. W. Howell was the low bidder for general construction on this competitively bid project.

The single story building, was designed by Burton Behrendt & Smith Architects, located in Patchogue, NY. The exterior façade is brick with a cultured stone wainscot and the roof is shingled with cupolas.  Included in this state-of-the-art educational facility are a gymnasium, cafeteria, and auditorium along with classrooms and staff offices.

The grounds will include a 10,000 square foot paved courtyard and a playground with a rubberized surface under the play structures, along with a multi-purpose ball field.  The project is scheduled for completion in August of 2003 with an approximate budget of $12,000,000.

The E. W. Howell team consists of  Project Executive – Paul O'Rourke, and on-site are: Project Manager – Ron Philipbar , along with  Superintendent – Ray Quinlan, and Project Administrator – Dorothy Vella .  Robert Webb successfully estimated the project for the firm.
