L.A. Fitness Open For Business

Farmingdale, NY – May 6, 2004 – E.W. Howell has just completed construction on the first L.A. Fitness Sports Club on Long Island.  Serving as General Contractors, E.W. Howell was responsible for completing interior renovations made to an existing 50,000 sf. one-story building.  Starting the job promptly in December 2003, the sports club was completed and ready for its scheduled opening of late April 2004.

The extremely fast paced construction consisted of building five racquet ball courts, a basketball court, child care center, juice bar, and 3,551SF aerobics room. The one floor fitness club also includes a sauna, lap pool, mens and womens locker rooms,  a separate spinning room, along with 13,000SF of cardio circuit facilities and a free weight area that is 5,000SF. 

The E.W. Howell project team consisted of: Project Executvie – Paul O’Rourke, Project Manager – Alexis Lisi, Project Assistant – Diane Richard, and Superintendent – Mike Buckley.
